The Conservation Committee of the Hawkeye Area Council, Boy Scouts of America is hosting an Earth Day celebration, Saturday, April 22, 2023, 1:00PM-4:00PM at Camp Wakonda (near Central City, 4521 Boy Scouts Road). The event is free and open to the public. Bring your family to visit the 18 educational stations and learn about native prairie plants, invasive species, monarchs, bees, birds, mammals, reptiles & amphibians, home energy usage, composting, renewable energy, and more! Scouts can fulfill Cub Scout and Scouts BSA requirements. Non-Scouts are welcome to enjoy the stations. Those who want to a participate in a conservation service project on Earth Day can take a break from the stations and help with a garlic mustard pull.
