The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) is the summative accountability assessment for all Iowa students that meets the requirements of the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The assessments are aligned with the Iowa Core learning standards and provide a clear and accurate assessment of student learning outcomes. Student growth, proficiency and readiness indicators will be reported

All Iowa students in grades 3-11 are required to participate in ISASP. Students in grades K-2 and seniors DO NOT take the ISASP. Cedar Rapids Community School District will be administering the ISASP between April 3-21, 2023.

Information about ISASP testing include:

  • All students will take the assessment online. Secondary students must bring their school-issued device and power cord for testing.
  • ISASP assesses reading, language/writing, and math in grades 3-11. Science is assessed in grades 5, 8, and 10.
  • The assessment is untimed, however students must complete an assessment on the day it is started.
  • Test questions include multiple choice items in addition to matching, sorting, or short answer.
  • Assessment results will be available to schools and families. We hope to receive this information by the end of the school year, but we may not have final results until the fall.
  • Practice assessments are available online and can be done at home. Practice assessments can be found here https://iowa.pearsonaccess.com/test-prep/

Building specific testing dates will be sent home from your child’s school as the assessment window approaches.
