Vaccines are effective at protecting you from getting sick from COVID-19. Studies show them to be greater than 90% effective in preventing sickness, hospitalization, and death. They have also been shown to work against new variants. Additionally, vaccinated people are less likely to spread the virus—it protects you and those who aren’t able to get vaccinated because of age or health issues.
